HOW TO GET TO SABLAYAN
There are two options to make your way from Manila to Sablayan:
By bus: “Ceres Bus Liner” is operating a bus connection between Manila and Occ. Mindoro – simply get on a bus at one of the terminals in Sampaloc, Marikina, Cubao or Alabang. If you are arriving at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport the closest terminal is in Alabang, a 20min taxi ride from the airport. Once you caught your bus you will travel to Batangas (~ 2–3h), get on a ferry to Abra de Ilog (~ 2.5h) and finally get on the bus to Sablayan (~ 2.5–3h) again.
Since there are some scheduled trips during day & nighttime and you only need to buy a single ticket for the whole route (ticketing for the Batangas – Abra de Ilog ferry will be arranged for you; make sure to get on the right bus when you get off the ferry - remember your bus number!) this is the preferred way to travel for most people. Furthermore, you do not have to worry about any restrictions if you have a bit more luggage.
However, in Manila, you can get on any bus heading for Batangas, catch the next ferry to Abra de Ilog and just proceed to the terminal, next to the pier, to find a bus or van heading for Sablayan.
By plane: Cebu Pacific Air currently offers early morning (06:30 AM) flights (~ 1h) from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) to San Jose / Occ. Mindoro (SJI) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. At San Jose Airport ask a Tricycle driver to bring you to a bus terminal or van heading for Sablayan (~ 2–2.5h).
"Bunso Transport" is offering a boat schedule from the Port of Coron to San Jose / Occ. Mindoro on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Once at the pier in San Jose ask a Tricycle driver to bring you to a bus terminal or van heading for Sablayan (~ 2–2.5h).
FROM PUERTO GALERA
There is a daily boat schedule from the Puerto Galera to Abra de Ilog every morning. In Abra de Ilog just proceed to the terminal next to the pier and find a bus or van heading for Sablayan (~ 2.5–3h).
